The Davis & Shirtliff Group is the leading supplier of Water and Energy Solutions in the region. The Group is Kenyan based and operates through a network of Kenyan Branches as well as regional subsidiaries in Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Rwanda, South Sudan and DRC.
The D&S tradition of Founders Day, which marks the Company's establishment in 1946 by Eddie Davis and Dick Shirtliff, has been celebrated across the Group with a series of family-inclusive staff events and CSR activities with this years' theme being tree planting.
D&S Uganda has recently completed an important humanitarian project funded by the Danish Refugee Council to provide six solar powered water supplies for refugees around Arua in North West Uganda. Over 1million refugees have moved to Uganda, and the government, working with UNHCR, has provided infrastructure to support them.
D&S Uganda has been busy recently celebrating two important milestones, the opening of its new Kampala Head Office and its 20th Anniversary. At a well-attended event at the new premises, Group Chairman Alec Davis was Guest of Honour and formally opened the building.
D&S Uganda is the Group's longest established subsidiary having opened doors in 1996 and it has operated from the same Kitgum complex since then. Originally a small space was taken and as the company grew it expanded to occupy most of the compound.
The D&S Service Providers Initiative was launched in 2006 as a means of enhancing service provision by offering a faster and cheaper response to D&S partner requirements.
