The Mwanose Community Borehole serves a population of over 3,000 people in Voi, Taita Taveta County. The D&S #ImprovingLives Initiative has rehabilitated the stalled borehole, allowing the residents much relief from walking long distances in search of water.

The community leaders testified of how they would get water from Voi, a 2 hour walk from the village, and this would use up a huge amount of time. Pictured, are Davis & Shirtliff staff, together with the community elders, commissioning the project. Davis & Shirtliff, through the #ImprovingLives Initiative solarized a 2.2kw borehole pump and with the solar pumping system, the community now enjoys a reduction in the time utilized in fetching water and the livestock, which would go days on end without water, also enjoy the availability of the resource
