Giving back to local communities has been a commitment of Davis & Shirtliff since its founding in 1946...

Kyatune special school is an institution established for physically and mentally handicapped children. The school had previously been relying on a communal dam for their drinking water.

The dam was not only used by the school children, but by the community and their animals too. This contaminated water posed unfortunate health challenges to the learners and community members alike. With almost 10% of Kitui County’s population being lower than 5 years old, it is imperative that solutions to lessen the instances of water-related diseases are given priority.

In partnership with The Rotary, Davis and Shirtliff have donated and installed a Dayliff 5.5kw pumping system which produces over 40,000l of clean water a day for the special school and community. The installation not only provides clean potable water for the community but, running on 36 solar panels of 275W, it runs at zero cost to the beneficiaries.
